Malcolm P. Sharp (1897-1980)

George Anastaplo

Malcolm P. Sharp was, at the time of his death, Professor of Political Science at Rosary College, having retired as Professor of Law in 1965 from the University of Chicago and in 1972 from the University of New Mexico. He had a lifelong interest in the problem of human aggression and in the cause of world peace—a sensitive and informed interest which is reflected in his recent unpublished memoir (“Kuaua”) about life in the Southwest and about the last days of his wife (who died in 1971). His constructive good will in grim circumstances is suggested by Oberon’s lines,

And then I will her charmed eye release
From monster’s view, and all things shall be peace.
