Tangible Souvenirs of Leo Strauss, Allan Bloom and Perhaps Other University of Chicago Notables

I noticed this morning, while walking along the Midway, that the apartment building at Woodlawn Avenue and 60th Street is being demolished.

This was the site of Leo Strauss’s next-to-last apartment in Chicago [before he became a neighbor of our family]. It also supplied an apartment, at the same time, for Allan Bloom. There may be people who would like a brick for a souvenir of two (and perhaps other) memorable inhabitants of this building.

I was permitted to take a brick to add to my collection (which includes a stone [radioactive?] from the original Stagg Field structure [the site of the notable Fermi experiment during the Second World War]).
